Trauma-informed care training for peer support specialists, counselors, and other staff to equip them with the essential knowledge and skills to address the unique needs of individuals and families who have experienced trauma. This specialized training emphasizes understanding the impact of trauma on children and families, trauma’s role in addiction and recovery, fostering a safe and supportive environment, and implementing trauma-sensitive practices.
Peer support specialists, counselors, and staff will learn to recognize signs of trauma, employ empathetic communication strategies, and tailor interventions to promote healing and resilience. By integrating trauma-informed approaches into their work, these professionals can create a more compassionate and effective support system for children and families navigating the challenges associated with trauma, ultimately contributing to healthier and more resilient communities.
