A MESSAGE FROM THE LOHR FAMILY:
<<<<<2020 2ND ANNUAL ZACH LOHR MEMORIAL SCRAMBLE CANCELED>>>>>
After long and careful consideration, it saddens me to announce that we have decided to cancel the 2nd Annual Zach Lohr Memorial Scramble that was scheduled to be held on Sept. 5. I’m certain you can guess COVID-19 is the main reason it’s being cancelled. There are just too many variables for us to move forward. Even if there is not a spike in COVID-19 cases this summer that would cause the govt. to prohibit such an event, there are too many possible restrictions that could come into play that would cause serious logistical and time related problems for the scramble.
The other issue that influenced our decision to cancel is that many people and businesses have been financially hurt by COVID-19. People have lost their jobs, don’t know if they will get called back from
furlough, or are concerned they will not have a job for long. Many small businesses are struggling and/or uneasy about the immediate future. Stephanie, Ashley, Alex, or I don’t want any of Zach’s friends, our friends, or the kind people who have touched our hearts to feel obligated to donate or play in the scramble at a time that might be financially difficult for them to do so.
We promise you this. The Zach Lohr Memorial Scramble WILL be back in 2021. We hope your desire to celebrate Zach’s life by playing the game he loved remains strong until we get together again. We are still very committed to making the scramble an annual event for that reason as well as for raising money for Hope United. Until the 2021 scramble comes, if you are in a financial position to do so please consider making a donation to Hope United in Zach’s honor. Please visit www.hopeunited.life for their complete story. And, please visit www.zachlohrmemorial.com to see photos taken during the 2019 scramble as well as future announcements. Thanks and please leave any comments you might have as we’d love to hear from you.
